This gorgeous handmade Kenyan sisal shopper is crafted by rural Kamba women living near Kitui, Kenya. Sisal was introduced to Kenya in the late 1800s, and today Kenya provides the world with a large portion of this sturdy material. The Kamba women who craft these shoppers adapted their traditional weaving methods to utilize sisal, and the result is beautiful! They are great for trips to the farmers market or grocery store.
