Kashida, from the Persian word “to weave”, is a beautiful and unique art practiced by artisans in Rajasthan, India. Artisans bring the work to life using wooden pit looms, weaving intricate patterns into the product. They do this by counting threads resulting in the same pattern on both sides of the weft, making the rug reversible.
This rug is hand woven using thick cotton yarn in shades of blue, green, yellow and white. Hand loomed by an artisan cooperative in the Thar desert region of Rajasthan, India and sourced through a Certified Fair Trade organization.
