Ahimsa or "Peace Silk" is wild silk that is cultivated on forest trees. The silk is harvested after the silk worm has become a moth and flown out of the cocoon. The thread is then spun from these broken cocoons, giving a lustrous, textured look to the yarn and a warm, soft feel to the fabric.
